In addition to the many available services and resources here at Regional Mental Health Centers, we’ve assembled numerous websites of organizations that offer information and advice regarding mental health resources for children and families. Kids Health & Teen Health Child Health Issues: Kids Health website has links for parents, children and teens on a variety of topics including mental health, eating disorders, substance abuse, self harm, suicide prevention. www.kidshealth.org

4Girls.Gov/Office of Women’s Health: Website developed to help girls (ages 10 to 16) learn about health, growing up, and issues they may face. Girlshealth.gov promotes healthy and positive behaviors in girls, giving them reliable and useful health information in a fun, easy-to-understand way. Families and Divorce: Working It Out

This four-hour educational program is facilitated by professionals from RMHC who have experience working with families in transition. Attendance by both parents is required by the Civil Division of the Lake Superior Court within 60 (sixty) days of filing for divorce for parents of children under age 18.

Classes are held at both the Strawhun Center and at the Stark Center. Find dates and locations on the registration form.
Cost is $50 per person, cash or money order only.

With more than a dozen locations, Regional Mental Health Center serves Lake and Porter counties as well as residents from throughout Indiana and Illinois with emergency mental health services, mental illness treatment, and alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs.
