Regional Mental Health’s outpatient mental health counseling is provided for individuals, couples and families of all ages by our professional staff of psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors and psychiatrists.
These programs provide help to adults and children having trouble effectively managing their lives through the various stages of change and development. Leaving home for the first time, getting married or divorced, coping with a loss and handling stress are a few of the life cycle events emphasized in these programs.
Problem Gambling Addiction counseling services are available for adults and clients as young as eight years old. Group sessions may range from six to twelve sessions, while individual sessions are arranged to fit the client’s schedule and can last as long as six months. Our state endorsed gambling treatment providers are licensed addiction professionals. Thanks to state funding, Regional is able to offer gambling addictions services on a sliding fee scale, making them affordable to all those in need.
Also offered are groups such as:
- Parenting education
- Groups for men, women and children
- Substance abuse and aftercare-relapse prevention groups
- Problem solving groups
Expert psychological evaluations can measure the client's intellectual and emotional functioning level to determine the most effective type of therapy.
Therapists engage in play therapy with young children to help them deal with attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, anxiety, depression and abuse. In addition, therapists work with families to support the children’s development.
At some locations, therapy also addresses topics related to substance abuse and recovery. Day and evening hours are available. Call 219.392.6001 for a new patient appointment. A caring professional will assess your problem, give options for services and schedule your first appointment.
